THE BIRTH :
Sev3rance was originally formed to protect the people of Sukanan from the constant pirate threat, the Sev3rance Alliance was founded by the two major threats to pirates in the area at the time. IronPig and Mystic Lion Hearts.
Due to the swiftness of Sev3rance's CONCORD-like attacks on pirates, the Alliance quickly attracted the attention of other corps wishing to join the ranks. Sev3rance grew rapidly until Sukanan had become possibly the safest low sec area in EVE.
EARLY LIFE :
Sev3rance's NRDS attitude combined with a CONCORD approach soon gained the attention of Curatores Veritatis Alliance <CVA>, an alliance that also followed the NRDS rules of engagement (RoE) who occupied a major part of Providence and a close and long lasting friendship followed.
CVA came to Sev3rance one day in late 2007 and offered them a constellation in 0.0 if they would assist CVA in the elimination of the NBSI threat that was in control of eastern Providence. The threat was that of Ushra'Khan <UNITY>.
Sev3rance agreed, with a new home and a tough challenge to look forward to. A gruelling long campaign against Ushra'Khan followed. In early 2008 they fell. Ushra'Khan however refused to be beaten and for almost a year a war of attrition took place between her, her allies including Triumvirate. <TRI> and Sev3rance. Sev3rance's logistics however eventually proved too much and after the deployment of 3 outposts, KBP7-G, B-WPLZ and E-YCML, the enemy fell back.
Sev3rance had a new home and constellation sovereignty to hold proudly. KBP7-G, Sev3rance's capital for a short time became known as the Jita of 0.0 for it's healthy and well priced market. It was rare for local to ever fall below 50, all from different alliances, corporations and backgrounds. With Sev3rance's experienced policing skills protecting the space it was deemed the safest place to start a life in 0.0, a golden age had dawned in Providence.
Now Sev3rance's mission was simple, to keep it that way.
In early 2010 after Sev3rance's expansion into northern Catch, hostile fleets became more organised and more frequent in their raids on eastern Providence. CVA and Libertas Fidelitas <LFA> came together and decided to launch a campaign through southern Providence to take central Catch from our long time red neighbours Against ALL Authorities <-A->.
After a public boxing match on the EVE Online COAD forums and the destruction of a large part of Providences capital fleet, -A- extended an offer in public to CVA for them to fall back or be destroyed.
For CVA to accept this offer in public would have been seen as a defeat and a humiliation, as a result the CVA leader declined and demanded all Providence forces to join the assault on -A-.
After -A- had successfully defended its space it launched a counter-attack straight into the heart of Providence, taking the CVA capital 9UY4-H in a matter of days. -A- stood firm and made no additional effort to take any more notable space. -A- allies Atlas Alliance <ATLAS> however flooded Providence with itself and pets. The war closed on eastern Providence where Cold Steel Alliance <STEEL> and Sev3rance waited.
The number of hostiles ranged in the thousands including ATLAS pets and the return of Ushra'Khan. For a week or two, Sev3rance and STEEL despite being vastly outnumbered managed to choose their fights and keep ATLAS and pets at bay, keeping a grip on their space. However at his point the entire area was a war zone.
Once ATLAS called in -A- for backup the enemy force proved too much and Sev3rance along with STEEL could not field a fleet to challenge them. In one particular battle of XHQ-7V the lag was so much when the Southern Coalition flooded the system jumping in that the entire STEEL and Sev3rance fleet was practically paralysed through lag. Defenceless and unable to respond most of the fleet was destroyed.
The Sev3rances history in the north is still in the making.
The move to the north marked a turning point for the alliance. Sev3rance has always up until now been a defensive alliance, "Gate-keepers" if you will. However with the lessons of the north behind it the alliance became more aggressive, joining the campaign against the south.
Defending the north against assaults from Pandemic Legion <-10.0> was Sev3rances first notable venture in the north, after, Sev3rance joined the successful great campaign against IT Alliance <-IT-> to capture the Fountain region.
In settling in Cloud Ring shortly after, Sev3rance negotiations for space were corrupted by an unauthorised alliance member. The member managed to wreck the reputation of Sev3rance in the North West with miss-information while securing a place for himself and his corporation within a larger NC alliance.
The level of corruption and miss-information was of such a height that at one point a Wildly Inappropriate <WI.> and Test Alliance Please Ignore <TEST> had assembled a CTA fleet to declare war on Sev3rance and it's supporters. FuriousPig (Cheif of High Command) was called from his bed in order to put things straight and deal with this corruption caused by the corporation Dark Shadow Industries <D.R.K>.
This betrayal caused uproar in the ranks and an alliance meeting was called. The details however were never fully disclosed to the members in order to not add more fire to an already roaring flame.
Soon, Majesta Empire <ME> extended their hand in offer of becoming their guests in the North East. Sev3rance took the offer fought along side the North East against the Russian invasion.
Eventually the weight of the combined Russian forces proved too much and the regions Geminate, Vale of the Silent, Tribute, Tenal and Branch were over-run and lost. The once infamous and unbreakable Northern Coalition had been fractured from internal disputes and broken by the combined Russian Coalition.
Sev3rance decided to go back to it's 0.0 roots and invade Providence.
Providence was being held by Ev0ke <EV0KE>, Sev3rance was well aware that at the time a toe to toe war with Ev0ke would be a fruitless venture. So set about a war of attrition, the sole objective being to make Providence a horrible place to live for any members of Ev0ke or her allies.
Eventually as a result of that and Ev0ke wanting to return to the north a diplomatic resolution was established that Ev0ke would leave Providence and surrender the space at structure cost. Ev0ke returned to the north and Sev3rance had the space back that it built from nothing.
Since then with the return of Sev3rance and it's allies (mainly Eternal Evocations <-E.E-> and <CVA>) along with the NRDS policy there has been political strife in the region with every alliance under the sun testing the ability of the returning Holders to hold their space.
Eventually the now hostile <TEST> and Pandemic Legion NAP'd each other and attacked Providence, Pandemic Legion took the capital KBP7-G and demanded Sev3rance become pets and/or renters. Unsuprisingly, Sev3rance yet again stood it's ground and refused; prefering to fight. Even against unfathomable odds.
In the end, after much fighting. Whether it be from Sev3rance and her allies not submitting, making it just not worth it or the enemy being bored into another conflict. Sev3rance and allies pushed back and retook any <-10.0> space in Providence.
Against all odds Providence was secure once again. Since then, the Providence Coalition has held a firm grip on 100% of the space in Providence.
